Embossed two-tone brown leather case (one half).  Contains ambrotype of woman sitting in front of a backdrop of a temple or cathedral.  She is wearing a dress with a domed skirt, large sleeves with tight cuffs, and a white collar.  Her hair is parted down the centre and held in a snood.  Handtinting has been applied to her cheeks.  The black varnish has peeled off of the back in places, rendering the image transparent.  The picture is set under glass in a gold metal frame.
