Narrative: The rugs made by Mary Catherine MacDonald Sommers were from rags and old clothing she coloured herself with commercial dyes.

This rug is almost twice as long as it is wide. It has a seemingly randomly coloured checkered design with a black border.

History of Use:

Floor covering used for warmth and decorative purposes in a home.
