Description: This hayfork has three prongs. Handle appears to have been broken off. This is a short handle pitch fork. Fork is held into handle by nails. Steel ring holds handle together and helps prevent splitting of the wood.
History of Use: This tool was used to pitch hay. Loose hay clumps together very easily, therefore few tines were necessary to lift a large mass of hay.
