Description: a rectangular serving dish on a slightly raised base with open handles at either end; the bowl is curved so that it is slightly higher towards each end. It has an under glaze blue transfer depicting a girl at a well, hence the name of the pattern. There are also trees and other flora and some buildings can be seen in the background. The inner edge of the bowl has a decorative floral border. The rectangular lid has a floral border surrounding the central image of the girl at the well. Above that image is a single handle similar to the handles on either edge of the bowl and a notched opening to accommodate the handle of the sauce ladle.
