Narrative: This torch was carried from Ottawa to St. Mary's University Stadium, Halifax, prior to the official opening of the Canada Games. It was lit by Prime Minister Trudeau, July 23, 1969, in Ottawa and extinguished at the closing ceremonies of the First Canadian Summer Games at Beazley Field, Dartmouth, August 24, 1969.

Torch has electrical fittings and a cylindrical metal body. The torch's handle has verticle ridges that travel up half of the length of the torch. There is a brass plaque just above a lipped ridge that divides the torch's handle from the rest of the torch. The brass plaque says "Manufactured & Donated by Fairey Canada Ltd. Nova Scotia".
