Narrative: James Owen Snyder was born 12 December 1879 in Midville Branch, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia, the son of Matilda (Baker) and William Bradford Snyder.  James Snyder worked as a farmer.  Snyder married twice, firstly to Edna Earl Wile (1885-1907) on 5 December 1903.  Secondly to Esther Matilda Crouse (1893-1968) married 13 May 1911.  Family lived on Haines Road in Midville Branch.  James Snyder died 6 May 1976 and is buried in Midville Branch Cemetery.
Description: Large ivory hand written indenture or mortgage between James O. Snyder of Midville Branch, Lunenburg County and Nathanial Hebb for the sale of land. Four pages, which are folded in half. Pink lines create a border on front page.  Two red dots on third page where signatures appear.  Reverse has blue imprint for registrar of deeds, William E. Marshall.
History of Use: Used to record sale of land between two people.
