Narrative: Collection belonged to Alice Mary Spurr (b. Oct. 18, 1879 - d. Jan. 13, 1957). She married Frederick Burgess (b. Aug. 30, 1879 - d. Jan. 11, 1952) on December 29, 1909 in Melvern Square, Kings County. They had 2 children and one daughter (Elizabeth Rosamond (Burgess) Munro (b. December 16, 1910 in Sheffield Mills and d. March 10, 2005) married George Collin Munro. Their son was David Munro. The wedding Trousseau of his grandmother was passed along his daughter Christine to wear for her wedding but deemed too fragile.
Description: Wedding dress of cotton batiste. 26 pin tucks in front. Bodice, 25 in sleeves. Lace insert in yoke, satin stitch sunflowers in front yoke and lace insertions and trim and satin stitch sunflowers on 2 lengthwise bodice trimson front and back. Back is also pintucked, lace trimmed and hook eye with lace insertions at centre front. Lace and sunflower embroidered flowers (6 cm. wide). Skirt front has 2 panels pintucks and lace insertion around bottom of skirt.
