Narrative: Dress was worn my Mary Fulton Fields on her wedding day in July of 1894.
Description: This dress consists of a skirt and jacket top. The fabric is a medium brown colour, with a black continuous slub. The garment is hand made and all of the seams are overcast by hand. The front closure has 20 hooks and eyes, a round neck line with rolled collar, a wide collar forming a 'V' in front and split in the back. The back has six gores from the neckline to the bottom, where they form a peplum. The sleeves are large and gathers at the elbow to a narrow section to the wrist. It is lined with a light brown cotton. The skirt has four panels, is fully lined and is faced with brown velvet.
