Narrative: This adapter part is from an adapter which was used to convert a wood turning lathe to one for turning metal shafting. This article was used in the Campbell Furniture Factory in Montrose (Portaupique), Colchester Co., N.S.. It was later used at Union Furniture, Bass River, N.S.. At least 3 major fires at the Bass River Chair Company Factory, and each time it was brought back to working condition; The item was thought to have been handmade by Mr. William Campbell, in the mid 1800's
