Narrative: The maker of this basket learned this skill while a patient for TB at Aylesford Hospital.
Description: Round wooden base, slightly concave interior, 4 wooden peg-legs. Side: a band of birchbark; exterior white side out; wrapped at intervals with split spruce root, edged with root. Held to base with small metal nails. Two elaborately carved thin wooden handles, joined in centre with carved wooden flower; attached with nails.
