Description: Satin with flocked design. 39 fabric-covered buttons, with three missing. Long-sleeved, three fabric-covered buttons on each sleeve. Collar stands in the back, but lays down in the front. Empire-waisted with train..   
History of Use: This dress was designed by and made for Beulah Helen (Carter) Estabrook for her wedding of Oct 11 1941.
Most pre-war wedding dresses were made from silk, but silk became virtually unavailable to the public during the war due to its need for parachutes. This dress was handmade from satin for the owner.
