Narrative: Previously owned by the aunt of the donor, Langois. Quebec city area of use.
Description: A rectangular wooden box & cover on two brass piano hinges and brass lock. A shield shaped mother of pearl inlay is on the top centre and around key-hole. Inside the cover there is a drop down envelope, the front of which is blue satin pleated and radiating out from central white pearl button. Inside of the box has been painted silver as has a shallow tray. The tray is divided into fifteen compartments; 6 with blue satin covers, three with blue satin pad and six square compartments left open. Bottom of the box had green burlap glued to unfinished surface.
